He held up his blade as the creature
glared malevolently down at him. Its fetid breath crept toward him
from between an abyss of razored teeth., rusty with the blood of
prey.
'Well," the creature thundered,
and the walls set to shaking, dislodging stray stones and bats.
"Did you bring it!!!??" The creature's eyes glowed with
a terrible lust.
The man
paused, glancing at the nightmare before him and then for a moment
to his puny sword. "Nasty outside." said the man, as he
sheathed his sword and took something from his pocket, and the creature
snarled in anticipation.
He withdrew something silvery, almost glowing, from a pouch and
tossed it toward the creature, who snatched the silver sliver from
the air with its massive jaws and gulped it down.
"I
think even the gods have no idea how much I cherish a good mackerel
now and then!" The creature smacked its lips, and seemed almost
to smile.
The man
laughed, "Aye, that's why Smaelith always bothers me to bring
you one..."
The creature snarled satisfactorily.
'Er, Grelmaine?"
'Yes?", replied the man.
Arcing
a reptillian brow, the creature asked kindly, :'Tomorrow could you
bring me two, so I can save
one for later?"
"Sure
thing, I'll see if we can save three!, said the man, grinning.
The creature showed its teeth, by way of indicating anticipation.
