Sunlight
could push killer rocks toward Earth

-- For eons our planet has dwelled among giant boulders that occasionally
smack into it with catastrophic results. Why do the killer stones
orbit nearby? According to a new report, the sun could be to blame.
The
hordes of rocks, known as Near Earth Objects, most likely originated
from a stable dense reservoir of gigantic, spinning rocks between
Mars and Jupiter.
But
scientists have had a hard time explaining what might have dislodged
many of them from the generally stable asteroid belt and sent
them into the neighborhood of the Earth.
A
new U.S.-Czech study theorizes that an unexpectedly subtle cause
could be responsible, the absorption and re-absorption of sunlight
over millions or billions of years.
The
slow process could gently nudge asteroids into new orbital zones,
where they become vulnerable to the gravitational forces of the
planets, which kicks them into paths that cross that of the Earth.
Like
a sunlit sidewalk, a tumbling object in space would be expected
to heat up slowly and reradiate the energy back into space.
Because
radiation carries some momentum, the reradiated energy could slowly
push the asteroids, similar to an effect first described by Russian
engineer I.O. Yarkovsky a century ago.
Computer
models used to study numerous asteroid belt bodies -- suspected
fragments from the collision of large asteroids -- lent support
to the idea that the heated bodies experienced altered orbits,
the researchers said.
Many
of the fragments seem to have been swept into narrow chaotic zones
known as resonances, where tiny gravitational kicks produced by
nearby planets such as Mars, Jupiter, or Saturn can push asteroids
out of the asteroid belt, according to the study.
The
team, led by William Bottke of the Southwest Research Institute
in Boulder, Colorado, reported its findings in the November 23
edition the journal Science.

Ancient
peoples knew all of this: and more, they knew the Sun was linked to real cycles
of 'calling' and 'rejecting' such bodies,
ergo: the Sun
is the Father of the Virgin and Selects the Suitors. If they're Comets, these
celestial princes who are 'errant knights' - 'hide their tails'
from the 'Solar King'.
Further,
these peoples have recorded and characterized their understandings
and experiences of these phenomenon, in order to 'unflatten' them
cognitively, and make a place that human cognitives could actually
enter experientially - something which is impossible
(comparatively) with a flat image, story, reading or writing.
The
single most remarkable thing is this: children
and animals do this around us all day long, and we don't see it,
or we attack it directly, punishing it at every opportunity.
Eventually,
one could postulate that the Solar King might get angry at this.
And the Mother might get 'scared' of his response.
Possibly,
they might even argue energetically about suitors in general.
Could
the events of 9/11, the shift in Earth's magnetic poles, and the
first failure of a major migration in the known history of the
Monarch Butterfly populations be linked?
Could
Earth -actually ask the Monarchs- if they'd sacrifice themselves,
to reduce the damage from a close asteroidal NEO which approached
'from the Sun, unseen' and passed us closest (1.5 moons) on June
17th, 2002?
Could
gravitic interpenetration of an NEO body be a signal of rapid
evolutionary change on earth, a step in a scalar spiral of such
events?
Well,
on Earth, anything is possible.
(Except
certain forms of belief, amongst humans)
But
there are a lot of smart monkeys who -think they know things-.
They
don't.
Even
I don't.
The
fact is, knowledge -comes into us-.
It
isn't ours.
Ever.
That's
the whole genesis of the 'lightbulb over the head' cartoon, that
we all find so humorous.
