Our goal is to create textual internet environments which allow users to interact in intricate and fascinating ways with each other, and the objects in the virtual environment. Many such environments currently exist in the form of Mud, Moo, Muck, Mush and other similar server-based realities.
Currently we are slowly modifying an existing server base called Mordor, which is the server we will use if we are unable to muster the resources to code from scratch. We have added some very interesting features to the Organelle server, though Mordor is something of a chimera in terms of code.
We are writing a database/ communication template that will allow extremely diverse and complex interactions between virtual objects; including complex scripted events, combat and magic systems, detailed object properties, vehicles, creature/object intelligence, and realistic species interactions - to name a few. We have also incorporated an elaborate and exciting ability to 'dream', as well as detailed time and calendar features.
We are working to build a team of mature (in bearing or age), enthusiastic and supportive coders, engineers and builders who will enable us to together create something magical
We run Redhat 6.1 on Dell p3 450 i686, with apache and all the bells and whistles. We own the box, and it is dedicated to the project. We are currently in the process of seeking interested coders with C/C++ experience to join our development team. if you are interested, please contact orchaeus@hotmail.com.
