Team membership:

To be a member of the team is to think in terms of the project,
not just one person or group. To these ends we consider each
other as equals, and try to conduct ourselves according to
these guidelines...

 

We respect each others' skills.

Though different, we each bring something valuable to the
project. So we work together to learn how to exist as equals.

We share in the dirty work.

This just means that we each take on a little piece of the
rather mundane and potentially boring tasks of maintenance
and bugfixes, cosmetic fixes, etc. Basically, we all do a
share of the dishes...

We encourage each other's imagination and creativity.

That's part of the purpose of our project, and something many
of us lack in Real Life(tm), so we make magic in this way -
imagination is totally encouraged here, as is innovation.

We treat each other with respect, care, and supportiveness.

Assistance and consideration are usually better tools than
critique; so we try to support each other, rather than
offering harsh criticisms.

It is good to remember that the other people on-line are
actually real people, and that the use of excessive insulting,
racist, sexist, erotic, or foul language may offend some people.
We rely on your good judgement - harassment is not allowed here
in any form.

We respect the resources and tools of the system.

Basically meaning we use care when dealing with system resources,
and recognize that they belong to the team, not just one person.
So we are cautious in making changes that may affect others. And
we are careful before trying to force something we might desire
personally on the rest of the team, from a system standpoint.
