IV. Questions, rights and risks:

Organelle is an internet community, and also a game, played mostly anonymously. For these reasons the following things are important to understand:

Common Sense Aspects of the Game:

1. You really don't know who the other players are, don't give out personal information to them about your 'real life'. -Never- give out personal, financial, or other important information in the game - it is extremely unwise to do so.

2. Abuse of the system, or abusing other players in any way won't be tolerated - you will be permanently ejected from the community.

3. The goal here is simple: joyful, collaborative play, and creativity. Other goals belong elsewhere.

4. By logging into Organelle, you agree to hold us blameless for -any- consequence of your use of our system. For a complete listing of policies, log into the game and type: help policy.

Your Rights as a Player on Organelle:

Many environments such as ours treat their playerbase in any imaginable way. Our policies regarding players are as follows: There is only one resource in our environment that -really- matters: the players. Our whole focus is to create an immersive, exciting, and novel play environment for them - so we do everything in our power to protect and nourish their gaming experience.

To this end there is a 'getting to know you' period, where your player has enough access to 'taste' the game, but cannot progress beyond a certain point. To do so, you will need to convince other players of your skills and readiness through role-playing in the game and with others. Whoever 'sponsors' you, becomes your mentor, and responsible for your actions, to a degree, until you are 'accepted'. We are picky, because we want to create a certain degree of quality in our on-line game - for this reason, Hrielith is not for everyone. We welcome and energetically encourage new players, however.

Our part -what we provide for you:

Players get backed up regularly - and we don't wipe them, ever, for any reason. We listen openly to suggestions, where possible. We will do our best to resolve issues arising due to bugs, anomalies. We encourage and reward people who bring talented players to the game. We encourage and reward people who act as exemplary role-players - even if we don't particularly approve of their aesthetics. We view and treat our playerbase, and each player as our most valuable resource. We will respond quickly to complaints of harassment or abuse. We consistently attempt to improve the playing experience.

Your part:

If you adhere to the policies, and support the community with creative play, you will earn the respect, admiration, and possibly friendship of other players and administrators. If you merely come to hang around and play - that might be alright as well. If you come to the game to disrupt it, or harass others in any way - your access will be blocked.

In short - treat the system and people with respect and care - and you will receive the same in return.
