VII. Races:
I still am not sure I saw it. We'd been lost for 17 days when we spied a dreamlike structure in the distance. There were noises in the brush and suddenly we were surrounded by giant insects, whose appearance was of sentients - for a few wore what seemed to be blade-weapons or battle-jewelry. They made a terrible clicking sound, and one gestured toward us with a foreclaw - that was the last any of us remember - we soon found ourselves in the Place of Awakening. We had the feeling that we'd stumbled into some area holy to them, or otherwise trespassed - though truly we were only lost... -Saevarina Marileth, Cartographer, Guide.
There are many races of creatures in Hrielith; and a few sentient races from which players may choose. Your choice is important, for it will inform how your character grows, interacts and responds to other beings in the realm, to varying degrees, as well as affecting your adeptness in certain skills - and possibly even access to elements of the environment.

Predacious, in general.During character creation you can type help (race name) to learn more detail about each of the races. Basically, you will want to select one which matches both your ideas and goals most closely. For beginners, humans are a sort of obvious choice, to get one's 'sea-legs' so to speak, or have a chance to observe others.
